Three Generations

Taken on Thanksgiving Day at a family get together in Teague, Texas. Is this a great photo or is it just me? Do you have to know and care for the folks in the photo to love it as much as I do or does it move you anyway?

Title: "Three Generations"

Shot data: 1/60s f/5.0 at 44.0mm iso250
Camera / Lens: Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 zoom
Post-processing: Adobe Camera Raw > Photoshop CS3 > Topaz Adjust plugin

You have done quite well on the exposure all the way across the photo. I like how you controlled any shadows that normally show behind their heads in this type shot.

It depicts what appears to be a happy moment for most everyone in the photo. Going by hair color you could venture to say they were all related in some fashion, though that could be coincidence I guess.

As an observation: in my opinion (take that for what it's worth) there is too much room at the top of the photo.

Great shot Barry. I do agree with Doug's comments. I don't think this was an available light shot, was it? I would also like to see a B&W version.

Thanks Doug and Larry!

I agree about the extra room on top needing to be cropped. I'll post a pano version (and a B&W version) today.

Larry - Yes...this was available light.

Cheers!

I like both versions Barry. I can't decide on a preference. I like the pano crop. It eliminated the dead negative space over their heads and improved the shot.

Doug - I agree that the pano version is better! Thanks for the suggestion!

Cheers!
