RenFest Horned Warrior

Captured at the Texas Renaissance Festival two Saturdays ago. It's kind of hard not to notice someone wearing horns! And this guy wasn't the only one either! :-)

Talk about a stare! Your previous entry looks like Santa Claus compared to this guy. Scary, but very interesting, and you were able to control the background well so that all of the viewer's attention stays on your subject...in fact, you kind of hate to look away! Having only his eyes visible really contributes to the impact of this image...and the spikes probably help too.

Thanks Cindi!

You hit on everything I like about this photo! The characters definitely make it worth a photographer's price of admission!

Cheers!

Awesome shot Barry. Great control of DOF and separating the subject from the background. Great connection with him too, considering he's wearing a mask. You can see it in his eyes. A little nit; the lopped off sword grip.

I think I saw this guy in "Conan The Barbarian" a few years ago! Nice shot.

LOL I know this guy personally. He is one of my closest friends, we used to work together. Unfortunately, the second to last weekend of Ren Fest this year, my girlfriend and I had to drive up and take him to the hospital. You notice his eyes are a bit bloodshot. Its likely from the contacts that he usually wears, which aren't in this shot. Something got under one of his contacts and scratched his eye enough that he could barely open it.

The apron and cloak that he wears were both made by me about a year ago.
