#667. Howitzer (Rollover)

Taken yesterday at the American Shooting Centers in George Bush Park during the Homes for Our Troops sporting clays event. I didn't like the original background much so I did quite a bit of post-processing work to try and clean things up a bit. Hold your mouse over the photo to reveal the original image as it came our of Photomatix.

#661. Driftwood Diptych

Taken at the Texas City Dike a couple of weekends ago. I took a few minutes off from photographing the kite surfers to photograph this piece of driftwood laying on the beach. I wanted to focus on the textures so I desaturated the color a little.

#660. Bonsai #2

Been in a slump photographically speaking which is why I haven't been posting much lately. I don't think there is any way to get out of a slump other than to work your way out. Hopefully if I keep taking photos I'll get back on track soon!:-) Anyway here's a still life I took last night. I took it in front of a white background with the intention of playing around with textures. I like this one I think.

#659. Vacancy

Taken a few hours ago at the Kemah Boardwalk. It was pretty quite this evening on the Kemah Boardwalk. In the summer the star shaped fountain in front of the Boardwalk Inn Hotel would be surrounded by parents and covered with fifty or sixty wet and screaming children. :-)

#658. Airborne

I ended up at Texas City Dike this past weekend. It's been a while since I was down there photographing the wind surfers so it took me a little while to remember how to do it. It pretty much requires the AI Servo focus mode and focusing set on as many points as your camera will do! In the summer I've been known to go out into the water for my shots but in wet suit weather I think I'll have to stay on dry land! Some said the water temp was in the low 50s!

#656. The Spirit of Texas City

Taken yesterday afternoon at a small park near the Texas City Dike in Texas City, Texas. Hold your mouse over the photo to reveal the original (unprocessed except for Photomatix Pro) image. I really wanted to create an image out this photo I was happy with and it took a lot of post-processing work to get there (as you can see from looking at the underlying image). In the end I was very pleased! :-)
