Petroleum Club View #5

Another High Dynamic Range (HDR) photo taken from the Petroleum Club in downtown Houston last Friday.

Camera / Lens: Canon 40D / Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 zoom
Post-processing: HDR from three hand held exposures (-2, 0, +2) using Photomatix Pro > Photoshop CS3 > Topaz Adjust plugin

Nice city scape. It would be one of my two favs of the series. I probably shouldn't, but I like the inclusion of the open roof top in the foreground exposing the buildings mechanicals. I quess I like the colors and textures, and the shape goes well with the geometric compostition of the shot.

I agree with Larry, I think that the open roof tops add a lot to the overall image. I think the overall colors work extremely well together. Good job.

This image gives you a window-washer's eye view of Houston. I like how the buildings and the clouds make a frame to keep your eye in the image and causes you to really look at the focal point building and notice its soaring height and all the graphic lines and patterns all around.
