Galveston Moon

Bob Dempsey put together another great field trip for the Bay Area Photo Club last night. We met down in Galveston's historic district for fellowship and photo taking. I took this shot at the end of the night as I was about to get back in my truck to head home. It turned out the be my favorite shot of the night so I'm glad I took the time to take one more shot! :-)

Title: "Galveston Moon"

Camera / Lens: Canon 40D / Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 zoom
Post-processing: HDR from three exposures using tripod (-2, 0, +2) using Photomatix Pro > Photoshop CS3 > Tapaz Adjust Plugin

Nice shot Barry. Good decision to take that one extra shot. The only I might consider changing would be cloning out the temporary steet sign in the foreground. I don't think it would take much time and I believe it would improve by simplifying. Again, nice job.

Thanks Larry!

I did the cloning you suggested (and a little more) and replaced the image already (hit refresh if you don't see the changes)! Thanks for the tip!

Cheers!

Looking at this photo, I half expect Batman to come swooping from the top of the building.

I really like how you pushed this one to a surreal look. The angle you choose really helps the overall image.

Good job.

Thanks Patrick!

Hmmm...Batman! Why didn't I think of that? :-)

Barry,

This is the shot I hoped to get but didn't. Outstanding. Perhaps I need to break down and look at Photomatix.

Thanks Bob!

You'll never hear me say anything but good things about Photomatix. It has been one of my favorite tools for years! I think it’s still only around $100 too!

Cheers!

There''s such a spooky effect a good artist can tease from HDR... Love how this one plays with my feelings.
