Hi Barry --

I was in Savannah in the midst of teaching a workshop when Ike roared ashore. I had little time to keep up with all the damage it caused, but did send up a little prayer for you and your family and others I know in the area. I'm so glad to know that you are OK.

Thanks for posting the images of your time away and the damage you found in your area on your return. Looks like it's going to be a while before Galveston and Houston are all really OK again.

Thanks for the prayer Marti! It worked!! We were all safe and our house was unharmed. We lost power for a few days but we were out of town at the time so even that didn't matter much!

It great to hear from you! See you in Austin in October!

All of these are moving Barry, but I think that the "Salon" image resonates most with me from this series. The sign is a message from a distant time, someone declared the place open for business. And the poignant reality lies all around it. Whoa!
