I went to Space City Ice Station today to photograph some of the ice skating action. There wasn't really much action; just this one guy really. Anyway I took a photo for practice and will head back tomorrow for scheduled hockey games (and a promise of much more action)!
Photo taken with my Canon 40D and Canon 100-400 zoom lens at 190mm. ISO 3200, f/5.0, 1/250th sec.
Post-processing: Photoshop CS3 > crop > high pass sharpening > flatten layers > resize image to low resolution (600 x 400) > Charles Schwabb effect described in my blog on July 31 @ 80% with mask over face and hands > Merge layers into a new layer > Virtual Photographer Ambiance filter
