Lake Travis Bluebonnet

We took the RV back to the Texas Hill Country this weekend. This time we stayed in Spicewood, Texas which is located about 22 miles NW of Austin and 16 miles SE of Marble Falls. This photo was taken this morning while we visited Pace Bend Park on Lake Travis. For those of you may not know the Bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas.

Title: "Lake Travis Bluebonnet"

Camera / Lens: Canon 40D / Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 zoom

I like the foreground better than the background in this shot. I think I might have liked it better if the camera angle would have been a little higher - splitting the horizon between it'current location and the top of the page [a couple of inches above the subject.
Nice photo either way.

Barry-

Hi. I think I agree with Larry on this one. But I agree it's a nice shot either way.

It has been a few days since I have made it to your site. My schedule has been nuts.

But I couldn't not comment on the work I've missed. I absolutely love your work from the festival. You took an opportunity that many people don't think of and turned it into gold.

I love the images you created. I am hard pressed to pick a favorite but I think it's the medicine man.

I really enjoyed them all though. Great work!!!

Barry, I have never seen a bluebonnet portrayed this way. Great find! To me, I would have moved the BB to one side or the other. It is too centered for me. That way you would see it right away on the left side or your eye would be pulled from the lakeview to the BB if placed on the right. Great shot, though, as from many years experience this blue is hard to capture.

Thanks Larry, Brian and Shirley!

Based on your comments this seems like a good photo to spend a bit more time on! Look for a "revised" version in the near future!

Cheers!
