San Jacinto Day Eagle

I took this shot at the San Jacinto Day Festival two weekends ago. This was as close as I ever remember being to a bald eagle and I was duly impressed! It is easy to see how these birds earned such a regal reputation.

Title: "San Jacinto Day Eagle"

Camera / Lens: Canon 40D / Canon 100-400mm L zoom

Wow! Fantastic! Great composition, great detail, great background --- I can't think of a thing to improve it --- love it!

I agree on this one- excellent image.

The softness of the background really makes your subject pop. Outstanding use of shallow depth of field.

Thanks MIL, Cindi, Larry and Patrick!

On the original image I only had this terrific bokeh in the upper right hand corner. I liked it so much I made a copy of the layer and flipped it horizontally and then copied that layer and flipped it vertically. After some masking and blending and cloning I got the desired background look throughout the image. It took a few tries to get it to look "real" but I really liked the rusult, as you guys did!

Cheers!
