I like this portrait as well, it is close and simple. I would suggest cloning out the line and wrinkles in the background as they do draw my eye away from the subject...or maybe just blend away or soften the vertical line if that is even possible --- I do like the diagonal tones below the pipe, I think they add interest. I wonder how many men back then had a stud and a ring pierced in their earlobe?

Very good light and simple image. I do really like the profile. The lines of the pipe help move you through the image. Good job.

Cindy - If I ever do anything else with this photo I will take your suggestion and work to simplify the background a little more!
