These street shots are forcing me to step back and take a different look at your photos. On one hand, I don't always see what really caught your interest. By that I mean, it's not really the main point of your photo with how it's been framed. It's just in the frame.

On the other hand, there are objects within the photos that to me would have been more interesting as the main subject. In this case, it would be the shadow created by the front wheel and tire onto the sidewalk.

I think there was a more interesting photo to be had by isolating on the pieces of the photo that focus more on that. I'm not good in this respect, but it's worth noting here. I see something that catches my eye, but do I really look closer at it for other opportunities or more interesting pieces of the puzzle?

Thanks for the comments Doug!

The bike caught my eye because with its age and the jury rigged headlight it just didn't seem like it really needed to be chained up (at least not with a chain that size). Once I noticed the bike I noticed the light on it was pretty good and I could see some nice plays between warm and cool tones. As far as taking the detail shots goes I always have a hard time remembering to try and do that. Something I certainly need to work on.

Cheers!

I don't think every picture needs to be a work of art. When I first saw this picture I chuckled and had a smile - it triggered a memory of all of the bicycles I have seen on campus and the unique methods of securing them to various structures. The flash light is what made the picture for me. I like it.

I think the shot is missing a plastic milk crate taped to the "luggage rack" on back. Other than that, nice simple shot.
