The Owl and the Seagull

From this past weekend's side trip to Port Aransas, Texas. I think the purpose of these fake owls is to scare the other birds away? This is the shoreline version of a crow resting on a scarecrow :-)

Title: "The Owl and the Seagull"

And it looks like there are a couple of electronic bird repellers in the shot as well. So much for technology.

Thanks for the comment Larry!

I didn't realize what the electronic looking things were. It's funny if they are bird repellers! :-)

Cheers!

Really good use of depth of field with what could be a very distracting background. I also like the simple composition that really highlights the subjects. Good job.

Is this really just one exposure? You did a great job of selectively focusing on each subject, and the humor is wonderful too.

Thanks Patrick and Cindi!

Cindi - You got it! It's a two exposure composition! No way I could get both birds in focus using the 100-400 zoom with this much distance betweeen them. Good eye!

Cheers!
