Cousins

We were in Teague, Texas yesterday for a family Thanksgiving get together and of course I took a few pictures. These two photos are of cousins out playing on a playground. For both shots I had my camera's exposure compensation set to -2 and used a Vivitar flash off-camera with a Lumiquest Mini-Soft Box mounted to a monopod.

Post-processing: Photoshop CS3 > Duplicate Background Layer > Topaz Adjust "Dramatic" preset with mask to preserve the original exposure of the main subjects face

Nice job on composing the shots and it looks like you’ve got the hang of the Strobist method. The bottom shot [in the tube] is my favorite of the two.

I must really like the off camera flash or I would't bother carrying around the extra gear! :-)
