Taken Thanksgiving Day. Because a lot of our family members are blessed with talent (present company excluded) our Thanksgiving Day celebration traditionally includes a talent show. Here two aspiring musicians await their respective turns.

I love the contrast between one girls very relaxed pose and the other's uptight, ready to jump-out-of-her-skin pose. I do wish you would have done a little more with what the little girl is holding in her hand--bottle of medicine. I think that might have been an interesting twist.
Good job.
Nice shot Barry. Nice exposure with the natural lighting. I can see some mystery with only half of the younger girls face being shown but I think it might have been even better if she were holding her instrument off to the side a little more. Of course I know it wasn't a posed shot.
Thanks Patrick and Larry!
Patrick - If I understand it correctly, the medicine bottle is holding some water and the reed to her instrument (which needs to remain moist).
Larry - I think I told you before that I took these Thanksgiving shots in natural light but that was my temporarity isanity at work. I was using my Canon 430EX flash on camera and bounced off the ceiling.
Cheers!
Barry
I think that as our most likely 2009 BAPC Photographer of the Year (and last year's runner-up, wasn' it?), you cannot say that you do not have a talent! And look what your skill and talent can do --- record the talents of others! I really like Emma's pose (look at how gracefully she holds both of her hands) and expression here, but the other little girl seems to be not as connected to the viewer because she is looking away and also blocking part of her face with the bow. Did you take any shots of the performances? I believe you definitely have a talent for taking extra-ordinary images and while you have increased your skill level since you began shooting, the talent you possess is what takes your shots to another level. So next year, put up a gallery or slideshow for your segment of the family talent show!
