Conquest

I took this shot on a quick trip down to Galveston last month. The early evening light was hitting the side of the ship in a beautiful way and gave the whole scene a surreal feel.

Title: "Conquest"

Shot data: 1/640s f/5.6 at 400.0mm iso250
Camera / Lens: Canon 40D / Canon 100-400mm L zoom
Post-processing: Adobe Camera Raw > Photoshop CS3 > Topaz Adjust

Nice light indeed. I think that's Nancy Pelosi on her way to the Copenhagen Climate Hoax!!

Nice job Barry. I love the light on the cruise ship and the smaller ship receding in the background. I would remove the 3 small bright objects in the photo, as they tend to distract me some.

Thanks Larry, Doug and Ted!

Larry - Al Gore says manmade climate change is the real deal! You gotta beleive the guy who invented the internet don't you? :-)

Doug - The "3 small bright objects" are seagulls catching the same light as the ship. They're pretty cool at full resolution but I see how they are distracting at screen resolution.

Ted - I had the same kind of feeling. Maybe it's because the colors are reminiscent of an old cross-processed color photo?

Cheers!
