Curious Squirrel

Taken in a local park about a month ago. I know he's just a rat with a bushy tail but still...he seems cute in a way, doesn't he? :-)

I know I get low marks for creativity with this shot but I'm feeling a bit lazy on a rainy day here in Houston. I really need to get out and do some shooting!

Title: "Curious Squirrel"

Shot data: 1/3200s f/2.8 at 18.0mm iso500
Camera / Lens: Canon 40D / Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 zoom

I like it. It may be a cliche' but it is well done. The textures, detail, and colors make it a nice shot.

I'm a nature, wildlife and now sometime street photographer. If this shot was of the squirrel I would say you missed the point. I think this shot is more of his environment and where he fits into it.

My first reaction to the shot was "I wonder how long it was before he hit that tree to get away from Barry"? I really like this shot and how you have presented it, intentional or not. I like the exposure, framing and even the DOF. It helps tell the story, at least in my mind it does.

Thanks Larry and Doug!

I'm feeling better about the post now! :-)

This guy looks pretty mean--I hope you protected yourself from him. Great angle. Like the softness of the background.
