Halloween Spirit

Taken Saturday night in Seabrook, Texas. You can see this house across the water from Highway 146 as you travel off the Kemah / Seabrook bridge toward Seabrook. The owner of this house makes the most of his high visibility with elaborate decorations for pretty much all holidays. This time of the year he obviously has the Halloween spirit!

Title: "Halloween Spirit"

Shot data: 1/4s f/5.6 at 100.0mm iso400
Camera / Lens: Canon 40D / Canon 100-400mm L zoom

Nice pleasing color combination here with the strong orange and blue color pair. I'm not sure why the area at the waterline between the palms is blurry, what's up with that? Good job.

Thanks Larry!

The bulkhead is partially obstructed by some cord grass in the middle that is hard to see at low resolution at night. There may be other reasons for the apparent softness in that area but I'm sticking with this story for now! :-)

Neat capture Barry. I like the colors and reflection in the water. That is a weird look all the way across the shoreline as Larry indicated. I was thinking wind, but the trees and palms don't appear to have any movement. I'll double the "what's up with that"?

Good Halloween picture! I like the effect of the symmetrical balance of three (odd number) pier posts on either side of the shot and the non-symmetrical placement of the front stairs to the left of center. The colors are close to RGB with orange green and blue; and, they work.

Very nice, easy and pleasing to view. As for the "blurry - softness"....I will double down nothing is wrong. Come on ya'll, it is a spook house!

Thanks Doug, Wayne and Anon!

Truth be told there was a chain link fence in the front of the house that I removed. The combination of cloning and other Photoshop stuff I did to remove it caused the area to be less sharp than it should have been. Obviously I have some more work to do here!

Thanks for your feedback!
