This past weekend I participated in the Baytown Photo Club sponsored photo walk down Texas Avenue in Baytown. Today's photo is one of my favorites from the outing. The Baytown Billiard Club has been open on Texas Avenue since sometime in the 40's. It's pretty much what you would expect to find in a pool hall but this one feels a little different to me knowing that my father, grandfather, and great grandfather probably played a game or two here once upon a time.

I had no idea your family practically founded Baytown! This is a great shot, I really like your perspective and the way the shooter on the lower right is leading you into the shot and directly to the other billiard player. My camera will not let me take interior shots in such low light without flash, the higher ISOs are so noisy, so I am very envious you can do this. And it seems in focus pretty far into the room, for only f2.8. The only thing I can nit-pick about is that partial yellow sign at the top, it kind of takes my eye away from the rest of the scene... it might be hard to clone out though and you can't crop it out or you would lose the Bud sign...
Very nice available light shot. Watching the Flickr sight - it's still my favorite shot of the day!
Thanks Cindi and Larry!
Glad you like it!
Cindi - I agree about the sign! If I do another version of this photo it will be sans sign!
Cheers!
