Volunteer Effort

Today's photo is of one of the volunteers at Saturday's Marsh Mania event put on by the Galveston Bay Foundation. The volunteers made quick work (2 hours) of planting cord grass on the twenty or so man made islands in Burnet Bay near the San Jacinto Battleground. I really like the perspective of this shot and was glad in the end that I let myself put my camera much closer to the water than I was comfortable with!

Shot data: 1/80s f/13.0 at 23.0mm iso100
Camera / Lens: Canon 40D / Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 zoom
Post-processing: Photoshop CS3 > Topaz Adjust plugin

Definitely and AOK POV! I don't see any room for improvement on this one. Nice photo that really tells a story.

Great POV and a really interesting way to capture the moment. I do wish you had included all of his right hand...maybe you would have needed one of those "inexpensive" underwater housings though...Did you PS those words on his hat??? I can't put anything past you these days.

Thanks Larry and Cindi!

Cindi - No I didn't photoshop the hat but it does fit well with the point of view doesn't it? I wish I could say I saw the hat and that gave the the idea for the shot but really it was just serendipitous.

Cheers!

Great angle. It makes your subject look like you could reach right out and touch him. Really nice portrait.
