Old Hayes County Jail

Last weekend I located the old Hayes County Jail in San Marcos. Enclosed in tall cyclone fencing partially overgrown with vines it isn't that easy to locate even with good instructions to follow. This structure is supposedly in line for renovation which, as you can see, would be a major undertaking! If it actually gets restored I'll be one of the first ones to visit!

I like this shot a lot. It's a great composition of an interesting subject but I do believe I would clone out the two lens flares. I think this would take if from Silver to Gold!

Interesting old building. I really like your framing and composition on this one. It highlights the run-down condition of the building.

Not sure about how I feel about the lens flare--on one side, I like it, but then again, I see Larry's point.

I think you should lose the flare. I like the gritty look to this shot.

Thanks Larry, Patrick and Doug!

If I do anything else with this photo I'll take the advice offered and remove the lens flare if I can.

Cheers!
