Port Aransas Ferry

I took this shot as we headed from Corpus Christi to Port Aransas to catch a "dolphin watch" cruise that left from Woody's in Port Aransas. It's a short ferry ride (between 5 and 10 minutes); about the time you get out of your vehicle it's time to get back in! :-)

Nice Chamber of Commerce kind of shot. I could see it in a brochure for Port Aransas. Kind of static though, seems like something is missing. Maybe POV, weather conditions, background?? Not sure.

I have looked at this shot 5 or 6 times over the past two days. One side of me agrees with Larry, but then there is something about the shot that is not "just a snapshot." I know that I like it because it breaks some of the rules--centered; but, there is more to it than that. If I figure it out, I will get back to you.

Good work, keep posting.

I've looked at this several times too. I think centered is wrong but I'm thinking of breaking another rule instead.

Would it actually be wrong in this instance to have the ferry heading out of the edge of the photo, instead of the normal space in front?

I mean there is already the movement of the water behind the ferry. Would that make it seem more dynamic?

Thanks Larry, Patrick and Doug!

I like it that you guys keep coming back for additional looks at this one - it helps my web visit statistics! :-)

Cheers!
