Boardwalk Light

This is a detail shot of one of lights on the Kemah Boardwalk. The spikes on top discourage birds from lengthy visits!

Post-processing: Photomatix HDR from three handheld exposures (-2, 0, +2) > Photoshop CS3 > Duplicate Background Layer > Used the clone tool to remove some dust spots and power lines > Curves Adjustment Layer for overall contast enhancement > Levels Adjustment Layer to set the black point > Merge Visible to New Layer > Distort Lens Correction Vignette

I really know what you want me to look at in this photo. The HDR does a really nice job bring out the details in the lights; it helps the viewer focus on them. I wished that the sky was a little less contrasty--that way the lights would stand out even more.

Nice job seeing a photo where most people would not.
