#622. Majestic Flight

Taken at sunset a couple of weekends ago at Galveston Island State Park. Even though it's only a tiny portion of the finished image, to me this shot is still all about the bird.

Title: "Majestic Flight"

Shot data: 1/200s f/5.6 at 400.0mm iso125
Camera / Lens: Canon 40D / Canon 100-400mm L zoom
Post-processing: Adobe Camera Raw > Photoshop CS4 > Topaz Adjust plugin > texture from flypapertextures.blogspot.com

Wow --- what a dramatic image! This looks more like a painting than a photograph to me and would look fantastic on a wall, especially as a gallery wrap. The blue and red have such an impact and I love the gradation of color at the horizon. Simple, but very beautiful.

Great photo Barry. The use of texture on this one pushes a good photo into the genre of fine art. This would be a good one to present with a before and after rollowver effect.

Great colors. A simple, straight forward subject that dominates the image even though it is a very small portion of it.
