Another in my "Wasteland" series of photos. With the "Wasteland" series I'm attempting to create imagery that reminds the viewer of all the post-apocalyptic worlds which exist after the end of civilization as we know it (usually as a result of mankind's evil disregard for the environment) as depicted in many American science fiction movies, from "Mad Max" to "The Book of Eli," released over the last few decades.
Others in the series are:
"Wasteland: Empty"
"Wasteland: Disused"
"Wasteland"
Title: "Wasteland: Unattended"

Love that series. Great work.
Nice addition to the "Wasteland" series. An abandoned gathering place for people fits the theme perfectly. This shot really begs the viewer to make up a story about it. Well done.
Thanks Andreas and Larry!
I know the series is a little wierd (for me anyway) so I appreciate the positive feedback!
Cheers!

Nice concept here Barry! Like the images. You want to shoot a wasteland you should take a trip to Detroit. Was watching a video the other day and they were on a street with 60 vacant houses....
It's a shame how much urban wasteland we have in this country.
Great work!
Thanks Brian!
I need to double check but I don't think my budget for the Wasteland project will absorb a trip to Detroit. :-) Besides the place you're describing sounds like a pretty good place to get murdered!
Cheers!

Another great image for your series. While the color is intense, it fits the mood. Where is this? It feels like the aftermath of Katrina...or maybe just a really wild concert at UT?
Thanks Cindi!
This is the old Lone Star Theater in Galveston Island State Park. It's probably been hit by serveral hurricanes since the last time it was in use! It makes me sad to see it in this shape because saw a couple of plays there "back in the day"!
Cheers!
