I'm duplicating my comment from the other photo as they go together.
This photo and the one below it are different from your other series, at least to me they are. Your original series seemed to be more "artsy" where these two photos are more documentary in nature.
I'm not saying this as a negative, they just make me "feel" differently about the subjects. These shots come across as "gritty" and seem to be more personal. They are intimate shots of individual cells and convey a sense of how lonely and uncomfortable this place must have been.

Your assessment is pretty much right on Doug! I was going for a little more of a documentary look here and I thing going with black and white helps to achieve that (as well as the more gritty look).
