Football Fan

Today I went to Reliant Stadium and watched the Houston Texans beat the Titans! It was my first time to Reliant Stadium and my first time to a football game since before the Oilers moved to Tennessee and became the Titans. It was fun but really too crowded to be enjoyable on a regular basis. I took some photos and today's post is one I liked immediately!

Title: "Football Fan"

Camera / Lens: Canon 40D / Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 zoom
Post-processing: Photoshope CS3 > Duplicate Background Layer > Topaz Adjust plugin "Psychedelic" preset > Curves Adjustment Layer to increase overall contrast > Levels Adjustment Layer to set black point > Merge Visable to New Layer > Topaz Adjust Noise Reduction > Imported a second image with a better exposure on the band of advertising banner lights around the middle part of the stadum and masked off everything except for that strip of lights > Merge Visible to New Layer > Distort Lens Correction Vignette

Barry,

I like the edgy look of this. This treatment works well with this subject matter. What makes this photo effective is that it is about the event and by not having any faces showing, you make it about the event and not the individuals attending the event. Good job.

Thanks Patrick!

I like this shot for the reasons you mentioned and also because this kid appears to be the only one standing up in a sea people... just so he can see his favorite players (or the cheerleaders?)!

Cheers!
