#713. Emma and Phobe

I'm processing a few shots from the archives (this was taken on our trip to Rockport and Port Aransas back in March) and I found this shot of my daughter that I really liked. I spent a few minutes in photoshop to add in a texture in order to fill in the solid blue sky and tweak the contrast. I think the overall photo turned out well.

#711. Bottle Cap Alley

This is a shot of Bottle Cap Alley in College Station, Texas. Located next to the Dixie Chicken, Bottle Cap Alley is a famous Aggieland landmark and plays a role in at least one Corps Fish tradition.

#710. Estellitta

A few more shots from the Keels and Wheels antique car and boat show in Seabrook, Texas a few weekends back. These shots are of a 54' Riverboat manufactured by North American Marine in 1920 called the Estellitta. One look at this boat and you couldn't help be reminded of the African Queen. These shots were all taken with my Canon 5D Mark II using a Canon 15mm Fisheye lens and processed using Photomatix Pro to combine three exposures into HDR images.

#707. Target Practice (Rollover)

This past Sunday my brother Larry and I got together and took a couple of shots for the Bay Area Photo Club's photo assignment for Honor's Night. This month's assignment was a diptych with two photos taken by two different photographers. We presented the photos in a diptych frame of side by side 8" X 10" prints but for Internet purposes I thought a rollover would work better. Larry took the photo of me you see below. Hold your cursor over the photo to reveal the photo I took of him. We had a lot of fun doing this and I hope we get to do more in the future.

Taken yesterday at the Keels and Wheels event in Seabrook, Texas. If I kept accurate notes this is a 1922 Hispano Suiza Labourdette. I love all the metal mechanical bits in the center of the steering wheel: It's a perfect steampunk automobile. :-)
